Guten Tag und Servus, zusammen...

My name is ''Wolfgang Carlos''. I was born and raised in Germany/Bavaria/Munich.

In December 2005, I left my hometown Munich for the UK/London to learn a 2nd language. Since than, I have been living in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Germany. I have been back twice to each of these countries, including Germany. When the time is put together, I have spent about 2 years in the UK, 6.5 years in Australia and about 7 years in New Zealand, where I have spent the majority of my time in Christchurch and Palmerston North.

The only and true reason to settle down here in New Zealand ( or generally to become settled lol ), is my lovely wife. This is also the reason, why I am here in Palmerston North. We are both planning to settle down here, for good. This is the current plan, anyways. We got married here, in Palmerston North, in July 2014 ( in court ). We got married ''again'' here in Palmerston North, in December 2024 ( at church ).

Professional Driving experience

• I became a qualified driving instructor back in Germany/Munich. I worked as a driving instructor with two different driving schools. Teaching practical lessons (with clutch only) and providing compulsory theoretical in - class lessons and I absolutely loved it !
• In Australia, I have worked as a bus driver for the public transport system and truly loved it. The people/community in Perth are simply AWESOME !  I've also done some limousine and small bus tour driving.
• I have worked within the construction industry as a truck driver and labourer on and off, mainly in Australia & New Zealand.
• My time as a truck driver (C in Germany and HR in AU and class 2,3,4 and 5 in NZ) has been spent within the logistic and civil industries. This included delivering freight of all kinds - fuel, refrigerated products and aggregates. I luckily, had the chance to learn to operate a double - clutch with its splitter, on several different occasions.

Other work experience

• I have done an apprenticeship as a landscape - gardener, and worked with a total of about 7 different companies (private & council) in Germany, Australia and New Zealand.
• I worked in a mental health institution as a team facilitator after studying my certificates III & VI's in youth work, community work and mental health at TAFE / Polytech in Australia / Perth. I gained valuable & unforgettable experiences during this unique time period.
• I have worked as a double certified (UK & NZ) personal trainer, fitness instructor, and group exercise trainer in Germany and in Australia. As well during this time, I met & dealt with lots of different & interesting characters and absolutely loved it.
• I have worked as a window cleaner in private houses and commercial buildings where I enjoyed meeting lots of new and different people, here in New Zealand. Have had some incredible & unbelievable trusting experiences, with this kind of job.
• Additionally, I gained some interesting experiences while working at an insurance company within the injury section, in Germany ( I figured out that an office job is not for me lol ).
• Did many more on & off jobs, for a day or a week, not worth mention here...

Future plans and goals

I am very much looking forward of this new chapter as a driving instructor, here in Palmerston North and Feilding. This period of time will intensively and positively challenge me. I will also try and implement a new concept to the New Zealand's driving school industry. This pilot project will be started in Palmerston North in 2027. The aim is to effectively have it spread out throughout the entire country of NZ, with the implementational support of the NZTA.

I am planning to go to University to do my Master in Psychology (a dream which I have had for at least 23 years). For this, though, I am still too young! I want to enrol in my early / mid 50's and want to have finished in my mid or late 50's. The most fascinating part about studying Psychology is that you can only be too young and never too old ! 

I am looking forward, to get to know you a tiny bit as well !

My job is to bring you through to the practical driving test and to pass on some necessary and ever-lasting knowledge and habits. You'll be able to confidently operate your vehicle of choice and become a safe driver for life !
